Children are among the most vulnerable road users. Their smaller physical stature makes them difficult to spot behind parked cars, and their cognitive ability to judge the speed and distance of oncoming traffic is not fully developed until their early teens. School zones during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up are high-stress, high-density environments where a single moment of distraction from a driver can lead to an irreversible tragedy.
Road Guardians Foundation India conducts interactive, age-appropriate road safety workshops in schools across India. We use gamified learning modules to teach children how to navigate roads safely, read traffic signals, and identify blind spots. Furthermore, we work with school administrations to audit and secure the infrastructural perimeter of their campuses, advocating for speed bumps and clear zebra crossings where lacking.
